Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I install The Floating Header ?
The Floating Header comes with specially designed "c" shaped brackets that are installed to each side of the casement with the prongs facing each other.    The Floating Header has a specially designed cut out on the back of each side that slips over the top prong of the bracket and rests on the bottom portion of the bracket and is fastened with a tek screw.

Can I install The Floating Header by myself ?
Yes, the headrail is very easy to install and takes less than 10 minutes in most cases.  HINT: Install your window treatment hardware to the Floating Header prior to its installation.  This will help to eliminate some overhead work!

How do I attach my window covering(s) ?
Installation of your treatment is done by using the brackets that come with your treatment but using the self tapping screws that we provide. You have the option of installing your treatment one of two ways  1) Install to the front of the Floating Header (which will conceal the Floating Header from inside the house) or 2) install to the bottom (leaving the Floating Header exposed).  Front installation is used most of the time.  The Floating Header is very attractive, but a decorating idea would be to cover the headrail with fabric, wood trim, or some other material to match the rooms' decor. Depending on the type of blind, you may even be able to order an extra valance and velcro it to the Floating Header.

Can I install an arch blind and a rectangular window covering?
Yes!  You can attach both blinds to the front of the Floating Header so that they are flush against each other or you can attach the arch blind to the top and the rectangular to the bottom.  There is also an option of attaching the arch to the top and the rectangular window covering to the front.  Note: This will recess the arch for an offset look.

What color is the Floating Header ?
All headers are painted a satin blossom white. (This white has been chosen to match the white vinyl windows).

How accurate do my measurements need to be ?
Extremely accurate.  All Floating Headers are hand made specific to the size of your window opening.  Only a 1/8th deduction is taken to ensure a professional look. (Up to a 3/16th deduction can be taken per customer request.  This will leave you with a larger gap at the ends).
How long does it take to process my order ?
     We request a two-week lead-time.
